China unveiled the world’s first technical energy standards for electric vehicles.
The national standards establish the limits of energy consumption for different types of electric vehicles in accordance with the state administration for market regulation.
It is expected that this will facilitate the use of energy saving technologies for electric cars and reduce energy consumption.
China is the world’s largest market for electric cars, sales of new electric vehicles grew by 60% year on year to 1.26 million units in 2018.
The administration China also released 645 other standards, covering a wide range of fields such as road signs.
