Buyers of the Kia e-Niro in Europe will have to wait for the supply of the electric car more than a year, as European demand for the new product clearly superior to expectations and current production capacity of the company.
Kia, like many other automakers, can’t get enough batteries for electric vehicles to produce e Kia-Niro-in-time. The company prepared a letter to dealers, which States that the delay in supply of e-Niro applies to both new orders and pre-decorated. Accordingly, dealers should modify the General delivery schedule of 6 months until at least 12 months from date of order.
Earlier this month we wrote about the limitations in the UK, but it is now clear that the availability of e-Niro will be limited throughout Europe.
The company also plans to reconsider the issue of providing nationwide access to demonstration electric vehicles to as many potential buyers could obtain detailed advice and test-drives of new products.
Delivery of the first customers of the Kia e-Niro has also been postponed. Models that were supposed to be delivered in spring 2019, will be available much later. Operating performance of the company was adjusted according to the capabilities of the suppliers.
