Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Motors Corporation introduced the concept of wireless charging system of electric vehicles with the automatic Parking system of vehicles, called Automated Valet Parking System (AVPS).
AVPS will be convenient for drivers who are faced with the problem of crowded Parking lots and busy places charge.
Hyundai Group explains the system as follows:
When you want to charge an electric car, you activate the app on your smartphone, after which it is automatically sent to the free space with wireless charging. When the electric vehicle is fully charged, it will move to another location in the Parking lot with automatic Parking system (AVPS) that will allow other electric charge at this place. When the driver calls the car, it returns to the location of the driver.
The whole process is done by continuous communication between the electric vehicle Parking charging system and the driver. Parking sends data about the location of available Parking and charging locations, and charging system monitors the charging status of the vehicle in real time.
Hyundai and Kia are considering the commercialization of technology after the launch of the electric vehicle with Autonomous driving technology 4-level in 2025.
Recall that Kia has developed a wireless charging for electric car the Soul EV.
