IONITY sets the first 50 stations of a superfast charging of electric vehicles in Europe

Within 8 months the network IONITY established 50 stations of the 400 planned.

Expanding the infrastructure of fast charging stations IONITY has accelerated and the number of stations increased to 51 out of 400 planned in Europe.

Recall IONITY is a joint venture of BMW Group, Daimler AG, Ford Motor Company and Volkswagen Group with Audi and Porsche.

Interestingly, another 43 stations are at different stages of construction. The installation speed is very important, as a few manufacturers in 2019 release a new electric vehicle with a large range of reserve that should be maintained at least the basic infrastructure for long-distance journeys.

For comparison, the network from Volkswagen Electrify America in the United States has already established around 90 stations out of 500 planned.

According to the map, the first quick charging station was installed in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Denmark, Norway, Liechtenstein and Italy.

The charger is designed for battery systems 800 V and a capacity of up to 350 kW with the expectation of novelties that require such power. In addition, such a power — a great Foundation for the future.
