California company Karma Automotive, electric mobility startups, established on the basis of the original Fisker Automotive, has teamed up with Italian design house Pininfarina to work together on future electric vehicles.
Both companies announced last Thursday that they will work together and that the first results of their cooperation can appear in the second quarter of 2019.
Without mentioning details, CEO of Pininfarina, Silvio Pietro Angori (Silvio Pietro Angori) stated that his company will support the Karma, providing your expertise in design.
The only car Karma is an electric sedan with extended range reserve Revero, which was launched in 2017, but is actually an updated version of the Fisker Karma, initially released in 2012. Karma is testing prototypes of new Revero and is expected to soon release an updated electric car, and perhaps Pininfarina will help with a new design.
Cooperation with Pininfarina is the first in a new series of partnerships that Karma will tend to initiate within the framework of the growth plan, called a strategy of “Value-Forward”. Director General Karma lance Zhou (Zhou Lance) stated that other partnerships are in the areas of performance, artificial intelligence, shared mobile platforms and electrification.
He added that Karma will seek to strengthen its presence in the luxury car market in the United States, before moving on to other markets.
Recall that in 2014, the Chinese giant Wanxiang Group bought Fisker’s bankrupt a startup. As a result, the company was renamed Automotive Kamra on behalf of her only released models, and the electric car the Fisker Karma is slightly modernized and returned to the market in 2017 under the name of Karma Revero.
