Nissan will stop the production of the internal combustion engine version of the Nissan NV200 goes to an electric version e-NV200

Nissan announced that production of the diesel version of the NV200 van in Barcelona will be completed until the summer of 2019. After record sales of electric cars made by Nissan Europe in 2018, this commercial vehicle since the summer will be made only in the electric version e-NV200 and remain the only product in this release.

Electroforged e-NV200 is produced exclusively in the factory of Nissan Motor Ibérica in Barcelona for the world in 2014. During the 2018 financial year, production increased by 50% compared to the previous year, reaching 6,000 units.

The company is preparing for further growth in the demand for e-NV200, which is available in both passenger (Evalia) and cargo configurations (Combi). Therefore, the NMISA recently expanded the capacity of its battery factory in the Zona Franca plant, where since February of 2018 is going to a new battery of this model with a capacity of 40 kWh.

NV200 successful for Nissan in Europe, he was awarded the title “van of the year” in 2010 and with the start of production in 2009 and up to December 2018 in Barcelona produced more than 171 300 units.

As the sole plant responsible for the production of e-NV200, Barcelona will export electric van in more than 20 countries around the world, including Japan.

There is no information yet about whether it would be released a version with a battery capacity of 62 kW⋅h (as in the case of the Nissan LEAF e+) or whether the e-NV200 is now available in new markets (in the USA were only available diesel version of the NV200).

At the same time, from mid-2019 Nissan together with Renault intend to release a new model — NV250, which will be related to the Renault Kangoo. Since the Kangoo is available in the electric version of Kangoo Z. E., the new NV250 also expected to electric.
