Tesla is releasing a new version of its system air filtration HEPA with a protective regime against biological weapons as the aftermarket for older models of the Model S and Model X.
With the Model X Tesla put a lot of effort to develop a more robust system of air filtration to reduce pollution of the air inside the electric vehicle.
Elon Musk thanked the co-founder of Google Larry page because he pushed him to the idea in 2015, and Tesla introduced a completely new system HEPA air filters in the Model X.
The automaker claims that it is about 10 times more than a regular car filter and “100 times more effective than automotive filters premium” because it removes “at least 99.97% of fine particulates and gaseous substances, such as bacteria, viruses, spores pollen and mold.”
Air filtration has been particularly useful in California because of the recent forest fires have created very bad conditions in many regions.
Now Tesla is launching a new version of air filter HEPA for older electric vehicles Model S and Model X:
“Upgrade your Model S with the help of a HEPA air filter to get the fresh air in the cabin. This pack also includes integrated Bioweapon Defense Mode as a function of the system HEPA”.

New update costs $500 for the Model S and Model X, which is $250 cheaper than the previous version for the Model X. the Model S cars it can only be installed on electric cars that were released after April 2016.
Unfortunately, this filter is not available for Model 3 due to the large size of the air filter.
